The fifth book of Imryne, of House Melrae is called The Hierophant of Fanaedar. This is the cast of characters. I'll post a link to it at the top of every story; readers are likely going to need it. Readers should feel free to point out omissions and mistakes. :)

6. References

Matron mother: leader of a noble house

Drider: half-drow, half giant spider, considered both sacred vessels of Lloth's might and wretched monsters

Ellistraee: The Dark Maiden, goddess of love, beauty, night. Considered a bridge between the surface and the stone. The Dark Maiden, rituals tend to involve group orgies. Group marriages are encouraged, and considered permanent.

Lloth: The Spider Queen, the Conquering Darkness. Has great affection for spiders, demands perfection of her worshipers, credo is that only the strong survive. Rituals involve purification by blood and pain. Males are considered a biological necessity only. Group marriages encouraged, but the head of the marriage can choose to kill her spouses when she tires of them without reprisal.

Indran: god of those who use magic, very rigid. Monogamous marriages the only valid form of relationship; adultery is a capital offense. Love considered unneccessary.

Corellian: one of the gods of the surface elves. Notorious for his dislike of drow. Monogamous marriages considered standard, divorce a very occasional and regretted necessity.

Throat-band: males and females of certian statuses wear throat-bands as a marker of rank. Master mages wear white throat-bands, weaponsmasters dark purple, craftsmen various shades of luminescent green. Noble females never wear throat-bands.

Cherith: a small denomination of coin, made of a blend of copper and nickel. Often found either clipped or divided into halves, quarters, and eighths.

Gethmil: larger coin, worth about two hundred and seventy-five cherith. Made of an alloy of gold, platinum, and other metals often called white gold on the surface. Value fluctuates according to the economic status of the city. A loose alliance of moneychangers sets the value according to a complicated formula only known in full by them. Gethmil, by custom, are considered almost worthless if they are clipped or divided in any way. A few enterprising souls make a living by finding and selling clipped gethmil back to the moneychangers for the value of the alloy.
