my car is now the shiniest of the shiny...

...after a quick wash over at Brown Bear. I forgot my towels, so it's a little water-spotted, but I honestly don't care--I got the dirt and the pollen off, so i'm good.

Of course, i had ulterior motives for going to Brown Bear, too--like getting quarters for laundry, which I very badly need to do today.

Laundry is in process. The bedroom is mostly clean--I should dust, basically. The office is vaccumed and I cleaned up a bunch of stuff on the workbench.

Next, i haul a bunch of stuff downstairs and then tackle the bathroom, which is most excellent grungy at the moment.

At the rate I'm going, i might get done with the house by noon. Wonder what else I should do today? Maybe I'll go see a movie. On the bus, for the traffic will be evil again today. (I think there's another M's game.)

mission accomplished!

Laundry is done, and the house is clean--the kitchen floor is drying as I type. I got a check from the neighbor who i provide DSL service for (YAY!), and I'm going to go downstairs now and drink a couple of liters of water.

I need to think of something low-key to do this afternoon. I'd like to go to the Arboretum, but traffic and the fact that my body hates me right now are going to conspire to have me stay at home.

I should call my parents, too. la, la.

It's Willow with a bad haircut and late-80's clothes! (A quite *flat* Willow, as well. Not that she's that much less so these days.)

dessert ponderings

I am thinking about making something for the 4th of July thing I'm going to. I want to make dessert.

I am currently trying to decide between:

Caramel cheesecake (or regular cheesecake, but the caramel one sounded both tasty and easy)
Banana pudding (with vanilla wafers and a meringue topping)
a few different kinds of cookies (solely because I like making cookies)
Fruit pizza, the recipe for which is still forthcoming
Cuppycakes! (what kind I don't know yet--the maple ones sounded good, but maybe that's more of a winter dessert than a summer one?)
Peach crisp, if peaches can be had for a reasonable price


I am also now really, really hungry. Purely psychological, since i've had dinner. But looking through cookbooks is a sure way to make me feel like I must MAKRE FOOD NOW. Especially cookbooks with pretty pictures. I am so easily influenced.
