oh, yes...

I got my brows waxed last night.

I like the woman who did it--instead of trying to put in an arch (my brows are very thick near the center and the outer third is almost entirely missing--this makes putting in an arch impossible) she just thinned them some and got rid of the stray hairs. I didn't like how it looked last time, but I really like it this time.

Chris posted about getting a new watch, which is why I was browsing the Fossil site looking at watches.

This is the watch I picked out for him. Heh.

And, then, of course, I went looking for me....

I love pocket watches.

And I am also a sucker for iridescent dials. SHINY.

I have a perfectly functional watch from Target. But, oh, *drool*.

BAH.

Okay, so i start up my computer tonight, and I notice that my display is all smeary. Hmmmm.

Reboot. Doesn't fix it.

Degauss. No effect.

Reboot again? nope.

Hit Windows Update. No help there.

Crawl under computer, plug in old monitor. Oh, look, flickery!

Reboot. Old monitor looks fine.

Plug in new monitor. New monitor looks fine!

Reboot. Oh, look, smeary!

All the device manager is telling me is that I have a generic plug and play monitor device driver installed. I would like to go back to the NON plug and pray device driver, whatever it is. There is no option for this, Looks like the system will reinstall the plug and play driver every single time I reboot the computer.

I'm kind of at a loss, here. There's no brand name on the monitor, at all.

Hm. *pokes*

....the generic plug and play device driver doesn't work with this monitor, apparently.

Ah, well. On the shelf it goes. It'll make a nice big display for when I'm working on servers, and maybe whenever I get a new workstation it'll work with that and I won't end up spending $300 on a new monitor.
