My hike today:

I'm going to Cougar Mountain. I'll be following the route noted in the article, and if i come back with energy to spare, i may hike up to Anti-Aircraft Peak.

I'm leaving here at noon (I need to snag some lunch) and I should be back by seven tonight. Probably with pictures, and things!

home again, home again!

Hike was a success! It's a really nice trail, close to civilization, and without all that many hills. And, also, a big meadow with some really nice blackberries.

I finished up by 3, and then wandered away to Factoria for a bit of shopping, and then when the traffic cleared I came home. I'm downloading pictures now, and will be posting them tonight.

It was a really wonderful day for a hike, it was. Beautiful, not too warm, and perfectly dry. Mmmm.

On the agenda tonight is writing. And more writing. And possibly watching some scenes of "Dangerous Beauty" for some character references.

There was a pretty paint mare and a sweet brown gelding in a field next to the trail, who obligingly let m take their picture--and pet both of them . (That last was the gelding going, "Hey, quit with the camera and scratch me already!")

The trail was much like this for most of the way. Pretty, easy, and for the most part, flat.

Kris: not exactly a fashion plate. That bandanna does *not* go with the red shirt, and I know it.

Mushrooms! And more mushrooms! And even MORE mushrooms!
