Our Canadian border guy was a stitch on Friday, by the way.
He started our conversation with, "So you're a geek?"
(I said, "I work for (insert Company X's name here).") (For the confused, my license plate is GEEKGRL.)
Then there were the standard questions about guns, drugs, and money (okay, only about the first one), where we were going, how long we were staying. And then he asked, "So, who are you voting for?"
(stunned silence)
We all looked at each other, and three of four of us chorused, "Kerry!"
His response? "Thank GOD!"

In other news, I have been busy today. My laundry is done, the house is clean, I've rotated out the summer clothes and brought in the winter clothes, and taken all of my books from the purge to the library. I even know what I'm making for dinner tonight (pork and vegetables in mojito sauce). There is a cat sitting on my feet, and I'm hoping to finish the chapter I'm working on (angst factor: sky-high!) sometime before I go to bed.
I needed a day like today, to unwind and relax and get things that have been going undone done, and to just chill by myself. I've got candles burning,
unmisha will be over in a bit to pick up her tea, and tonight the bookcases are going to go away. I didn't get the office cleaned out today, but I think I'll do that Wednesday night.
And, of course, there is tea, and fuzzy socks.
Life's good.
