the city of roses
Dec. 4th, 2004 08:18 pmSafely ensconced in a Holiday Inn near the Convention Center, enjoying free wireless. The trip down was uneventful, other than frequent rest area stops. We came into town, found the Saturday Market, bought pretty things for people I know (and for myself), and went to Powell's, where we passed a most delightful afternoon/early evening among books. I found lots of Solstice presents for people. Go me!
3smallishmagi is on the bed, reading a book about Bayesian somethng-or-other. (He spent an hour and a half in the technical bookstore while I wrote in the little area up front. People are enchanted by his accent everwhere we go.) I'm checking email and editing.
Tomorrow, we leave the land of technology for somewhere quite a bit wilder. Radio silence for a few days, I beleive.
