Vancouver was a quick smooth jaunt up on Saturday morning, meeting
kyra_ojosverdes,
thewronghands, and
3ricj in downtown Seattle and heading north. After a completely hassle-free border experience (border experience. That sounds like either a really bad buzzword or a really interesting psych concept) and on into Vancouver and to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Nature! Woohoo!
We went to the Classical Chinese Garden and then wandered around Chinatown and Gastown a bit, had dinner at a really good place called Wild Rice, which was every bit as good as promised. We slept the night at a hotel in downtown, refueled in the morning with assorted warm beverages and muffins (and mochas that tasted a lot like melted milkshakes; I was quite happy with my Americano, though), and were on our way. It was pouring down rain off and on all the way home.
I got a smidgen of writing done, as well, though it's all handwritten in a notebook so will need to be transcribed later. We dropped
kyra_ojosverdes and
thewronghands off at the airport and
3ricj dropped me off at home, and
zaratyst and I went to have our hair done, so I am newly vibrantly purple and yet again feeling like I've got my natural color back.
Spontaneity is good, hot girls are good, Vancouver is good and I must get up there again sometime soon. Pictures are forthcoming; I was very sleepy last night and didn't trust myself to pick out the good ones.
This morning I am clutching my coffee and trying to comprehend my buglist. The puppy was having a brief fit of angelic behavior which meant that our walk this morning was much more pleasant than it's been for a week or so. He does this every so often to remind us that he is in fact cute and has the potential to be a sweetheart of a canine, so we don't get too frustrated with him.
Spring. Oh, yes. It is spring.
