Coulon Park is no fun. No bicycles allowed, and no dogs, and big "no changing clothes allowed in bathrooms" signs in the bathrooms. What good is it, then, other than having a Kidd Valley and an Ivar's (neither of which I eat at)?

Boone and I went to Coulon Park, noted unfriendly signage, and went to the Cedar River Trail, where we had a good long walk in preparation for a small dog meetup we're going to this afternoon. Boone will get to play with other dogs his size for once, which should be fun for him. Then there's a Gaia Consort concert tonght.

Had a productive morning, as along with walking the dog for a bit over an hour I cleaned up the kitchen, which was more or less destroyed after Thursday night dinner. This is not exactly unusual, and I usually get to the dishes I don't do on that night on Friday, but we were out and about last night and didn't home till after 9 or so, so I wanted to get some writing done before I went to bed. So did the dishes and washed stuff down while Boone (secured to the stove with his leash since I didn't feel like constantly trying to keep track of him) waited more or less patiently.

My Sony Reader and my universal power converter both arrived yesterday, and I loaded up some books on my Reader. I think this will work out pretty well for traveling this year, since I have this habit of hauling a huge number of books along with me when I travel. (I finished both A Feast For Crows and another book on the flight to Hawaii last year--and I wasn't even reading all the time!)
