stagger, stagger, collapse
Sep. 14th, 2008 09:06 pmSo, we bought flooring for the upstairs.
Things I have learned about major remodeling: it's always more work than you think it is.
See, while I don't have to worry about messing up the floors, I'd like to paint my office. Which means I need to get stuff out of my office, at least enough so that the bookshelves and desk can go downstairs. Which means I need to pack up my book collection, my CDs, and the odds and ends I have up here. The good part is that most of my stuff up here is in boxes anyway. The bad part is that I still have an amazing amount of books.
So, today I packed up books and purged as I went. (I also went to Edgewood to visit kitties, which is a story in itself, and cleaned the kitchen.) I'm at the point where purging is really painful...I got rid of half my Atwood and all of my Gaiman, some Hoefstader, a bunch of Mercedes Lackey that I've read to bits, and some of my poetry collection. I almost got rid of the Black Company series, but Glen Cook's publisher hasn't gotten with the ebook program yet, and I can't replace them yet with a Sony Reader version of the series.
So this is what I did with my day.
I am tired. Bed now.
