Sleepless Streets: The Playlist

I wish there were a good way to distribute the songs for these, but a number of them were bought from iTunes, and the whole thing is too long for a CD. Pity.
But here's the final playlist, just in case any of you were curious as to what music I was obsessively listening to while writing Sleepless Streets.
1. Welcome To The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance
Will you be the savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned?
This one always just reminded me of the setting. Perhaps a little epic, but that's all right.
2. (Wading Through) The Water Of My Time, Richard Hawley
3. The River Driver, Great Big Sea
This is the song that opened the first Sleepless Streets story.
4. Wolfen One, Heather Alexander
Wolfen one, you are the noonday moon and I the midnight sun...
Iola and Martin.
5. The Sea Refuses No River, Pete Townshend
Best statement of Martin's beliefs ever, really. He believed deeply that the best thing about the worship of the river was that it took all comers, no matter what they had done in their past.
6. Two Sides Of The River, Dar Williams
I know the tides of the river/Pray they don't shift in your sleep
Believe it or not, this song was where Martin originally came from. He was going to be female, a sassy barge pilot. Then, er, he changed. We did meet the original character in the first story--she was Elsie, the pilot on the barge Martin's working on. (Fothen, the amiable young bargeworker with the nice voice, was another discarded character concept.)
7. River Lullaby - Amy Grant, Prince of Egypt Soundtrack
9. Underwater, Delerium
I'm underwater/I feel the flood begin
Inge's song. It took me a long time to figure out what actually happened to her, because Martin was an extremely unreliable narrator when it came to her.
10. Find The River, REM
11. Jump In The River, Sinead O'Connor
12. River, Sarah McLachlan
13. Bring Me Some Water, Melissa Etheridge
14. Bridge Over Troubled Water, Charlotte Church
This is as much Iola's song as anyone else's.
15. Mad World, Gary Jules
I think it's kind of funny, I think it's kind of sad/The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had...
Martin and Joab. I didn't know till I talked to Storm and got it worked out what happened between those two, but, surprisingly, I'm very satisfied with the ending of that story.
16. Hazard, Richard Marx
17. Farewell To The Old Me, Dar Williams
18. The River Sings, Enya
19. Drunken Sailor, Great Big Sea
20. Underwater March, Pirates of the Caribbean Soundtrack
This is the song of the River Fen; understatedly dangerous.
21. Sing, Dresden Dolls
sing for the bartender, sing for the janitor, sing...
I think of this as the song of Kaladreega, the stubborn insistence on raising your voice even when it seems like a death sentence.
