bright sunshiney day
Jun. 27th, 2006 03:18 pmIt's amazingly beautiful out today. Just the kind of day to sit in the backyard under a tree and drink lemonade. Unfortunately, I am at work, and thus there is no sitting out under a tree and drinking lemonade. I did go for a walk to enjoy the sunshine, and I feel like I ought to do something summer-y tonight. I've got two garden beds to clean out, which have been working their way towards the top of my priority list, and a serious need to clean my office.
It should be cooler tomorrow, and maybe I'll do some office-cleaning then. I had a wild hair earlier today and changed my bio and journal titles. Woo, watch out, next I'll be changing my journal style (that nobody but me ever sees).
I'm also starting to map out the Victoria book in my head. i'm working closer to home and closer in time than I usually do (Victoria BC, 1901), which means that there are a few more things I have to research than usual. I'm not sure when i'm going to start in on the actual writing, but I have a length i'm shooting for, a vague idea of what happens, and a decent idea that I could probably finish it in three months if I put my back into it. I need a title, though. Definitely need at least a working title other than "the Victoria book".
I ran this morning, and I'd want to go for a bike ride tonight except for the fact that 1. it's hot and 2. I have discovered that I really do need bike shorts. (Oy, the chafing!) I just ordered a pair, so that's taken care of. Anyway, I'm already improving a lot over where I was. I increased the distance I ran and how much I ran without stopping, and in a few weeks I should be back to my usual three-mile workout.
I'm also back to sleeping very soundly and falling asleep within twenty minutes of going to bed, which is a happy improvement. Of course, I'm also getting up at 5:15 in the morning, but hey. (And I'm starting to wake up at sunrise again, which is about 4:30, just before my alarm goes off.)
Life's good.
