wherever you lay your head
Dec. 11th, 2010 07:02 pmSpotty Dog is as effective a sleeping pill as has ever been invented. I let the dogs out this morning at 6 am, then went back to bed. Boone decided that he needed to be on my bed, and flopped down behind my knees. I proceeded to sleep hard through till 10, only awakened by the dog sitting next to my head and woofing gently, letting me know that it was time for him to go out again and besides Bryan and Laura were awake. I wndwd up sleeping for nine and a half hours, according to my fitbit. It was wonderful. Mmm, sleep.
Of course, this rather derailed my plan for the morning, which included eggs and toast and writing, but I have been totally enthusiastic about everything today, which makes up for it. We have conquered Costco, and returned triumphant with many groceries and an early Christmas present for Laura, a nice set of stainless steel bowls. (We use many many large bowls in this house.) I wrapped Christmas presents, did laundry, and all the varied and sundry things that make up a Saturday. I even obtained some Tuaca; there will be Hot Apple Pie at Christmas, oh yes there will. (That's my mom's favorite winter drink; odd that I only remembered that now.)
Tomorrow there will be rain, and writing, and a holiday party with writers. We have a pineapple express moving through, and everything is just so very soggy out at the moment.
