This is Kel, aka The Management:

The Management

I am her favorite human, because I am the human with THE BRUSH. The brush is important. She requires brushing at least once a day, preferably three times a day. When she was younger and still getting used to all her fur, I made a habit of brushing her all over once a day so she wouldn’t get mats. Now that she’s bigger and lots better at taking care of her floof, she still expects the brushing. At 9PM every night, she comes and gets me and announces that it is Time with very loud meows. The brushing takes place in the bathroom, and first I brush her back and one side, and then her tummy, and then her other side, and then her chest while she purrs riotously and grabs the brush with glee.

She is still more fur than body, and she is soft and so, so plush. I occasionally wake up in the morning to her sniffing my face. She isn’t necessarily a cuddler yet (though she has her moments) but she’ll happily sit on my desk and supervise me.

This is Zed:

probably pondering cat treats

Zed loves everyone. Zed especially loves Laura; he spends all day following her around, getting underfoot, etc. He loves the dogs, and bowls them over on a regular basis. When he wants a lap that is already occupied, he cheerfully drapes himself on top of whichever dog is currently enjoying said lap. When you pick him up, he wants to be held upside down like a baby. When you leave, he sits by the door and honks piteously.

He is so, so cute, pretty much all the time. Except when he’s trying to trip us. Heh.

Anyway, the kittens are a year old today. Happy birthday, kittens!

They turned sixteen weeks old this weekend, and they are big.  Zed is getting close to six pounds, and Kel isn't too far behind him.

the panthers

Kel has earned herself the nickname The Management; Zed is still the Tiny Editor.  They both got altered this week, and they're healing up very well.  They've learned that they can boss the dogs around, that some of us occasionally wear pants that have dangly things on them.  They have not yet learned that just because they can do things, does not mean that they should.  Such as get up on the counters.

"I can't even believe you just did that."

Kel rolls her eyes at that idea.

I vaccuumed the other day, and Kel decided that discretion was the better part of valor.  Zed, though, decided to stay on the bed.  He hunkered down, flattened his ears, and proceeded to fluff up about to the size of a basketball.  It was really quite impressive.

the innocent look

I need to get a few pictures of them that show off just how big they are now!
